DAY 1 – FOUNDATIONS OF DESIGN THINKING & THE FACILITATOR’S ROLE

  • Introduction: Why Design Thinking? Exploring its impact and relevance in today's world; case studies of organizations successfully using Design Thinking (Apple, Google, Lego).
  • The Facilitator's Mindset: Cultivating essential qualities– empathy, curiosity, active listening, and adaptability.
  • Core Facilitation Skills: Effective communication, questioning techniques, visual thinking strategies, and creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Design Thinking Deep Dive: A comprehensive review of the 5-step process (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test) with a focus on the facilitator's role at each stage.


DAY 2 – MASTERING FACILITATION TECHNIQUES & WORKSHOP DESIGN

  • Group Dynamics & Collaboration: Understanding team dynamics, fostering psychological safety, and managing diverse perspectives to maximize participation and creative output.
  • Facilitation Challenges: Addressing common challenges in Design Thinking workshops; handling difficult participants, managing groupthink, and encouraging divergent thinking.
  • Workshop Design: Planning and structuring engaging Design Thinking workshops; defining objectives, selecting activities, and creating a conducive learning environment.
  • Tools and Techniques: Exploring a variety of facilitation tools and techniques for different stages of the Design Thinking process; hands-on practice with tools and templates.


DAY 3 – MASTERING FACILITATION TECHNIQUES & WORKSHOP DESIGN

  • Advanced Facilitation: Fine-tuning your facilitation skills; giving and receiving feedback, adapting to different learning styles, and navigating complex group dynamics.
  • Embedding Design Thinking: Strategies for integrating Design Thinking into organizational culture; creating a sustainable framework for innovation.
  • Practice Sessions: Hands-on experience in facilitating Design Thinking activities with feedback and coaching; applying Design Sprint principles in a simulated environment.
